The Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG) has once again made changes to the declaration of the certification body on organic products.

Instead of CH-BIO-SCESp 006, CH-BIO-006 (or: CH-Bio-006) must now appear on the labels.

For practical reasons, it is permissible to continue using newly printed packaging materials showing the old-style code number until stocks are exhausted.

In the opinion of Dr. Daniel Andrey, Canton Chemist for the founding cantons (Kantonchemiker der Urkantone) and spokesman on organic matters for the association of canton chemists, in view of the very small potential for fraud it is highly unlikely that the cantonal enforcement agencies will raise any objections on their own initiative.
