On Thursday, 27 April 2023, food professionals benefited from industry networking and knowledge transfer among experts and listened to the exciting contributions of proven experts.
René Eisenring, Head of Food and Packaging SQS welcomed the guests and gave the floor to Dr Christoph Moschet Deputy Head of Department Analytics and Food Monitoring / Member of the Executive Board, Intercantonal Laboratory AR AI SH. He opened the morning with his contribution «Water – water castle with a gloomy outlook?».
Natalie Rüedi then spoke about «Shortage of skilled workers – dual education system as a discontinued model?» and provided information about the future in the job market.
Dr Daniel Imhof, Laboratory of the Original Cantons, Operations Manager and Cantonal Chemist, provided information on food fraud 10 years after the horsemeat scandal.
Patrick Semadeni, Vice-President of KUNSTSTOFF.swiss, Member of the Board of the Swiss Packaging Institute SVI, CEO of Semadeni Plastics Group, spoke about challenges and opportunities in the field of plastic packaging and dismissed the audience for the lunch break. Over a delicious standing lunch, the experts were able to exchange ideas with like-minded people and expand their network.
Dr Sied Sadek, Managing Director SQS Deutschland (Germany) GmbH opened the afternoon with his presentation on «Sustainability – a question of perspective!».
Dr Michael Beer, Deputy Director of the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO), brought the afternoon to a close. He informed about food safety and the more or less recommendable sources.
At the end, the participants enjoyed the networking aperitif.
