Review: BioVino – An Inspiring Meeting Point for the World of Sustainable Wine

Last week’s BioVino once again provided an ideal setting to exchange ideas with winegrowers, business partners and industry professionals about the future of organic viticulture. We at bio.inspecta were also present and were able to gather valuable first-hand insights.

Diversity and Quality in Focus

The exhibitors presented an impressive selection of organic wines – from fresh whites and elegant reds to innovative natural wine concepts. It became clear that topics such as biodiversity, transparency and sustainable production methods have now taken centre stage for many wineries.

Technical Exchange from the Perspective of a Control and Certification Body

As a control and certification body, we engaged in numerous insightful and constructive discussions with producers and interested visitors. The conversations focused on:

• current developments in organic legislation,
• certification requirements in viticulture,   
• practical solutions for documentation and traceability,
• and questions regarding new sustainability standards.

These direct exchanges reinforced how essential clear and transparent processes are, as well as open communication between producers and control bodies. We were able to answer many questions and gain valuable insights into the challenges and expectations faced by wineries.

Outlook

BioVino has once again demonstrated the sector’s strong commitment to sustainable solutions and a responsible future. We look forward to integrating these insights into our daily work and to continuing to support producers on their journey.
