A day dedicated to organic – Bärner Bio-Märit 2026

On 4 September, Bern’s Federal Square was all about organic agriculture. The 10th Bärner Bio-Märit brought together people who produce, process and help shape the future of organic food – as well as those who simply enjoy it.

Buying directly from producers, discovering something new, exchanging ideas and learning more about the people and work behind our food: this sense of connection is what makes the Bärner Bio-Märit special. With its many stands and activities, the event offered an accessible and enjoyable way to discover the diversity of organic agriculture.

This year’s event also looked to the future. Under the motto “Die Zukunft isst Protein” (“The future eats protein”), attention turned to the question of how we can make our future protein supply more sustainable. The topic was not only discussed by experts but was also brought to life for visitors through a variety of activities.

At bio.inspecta, we believe that organic is about much more than complying with guidelines and standards. Behind it are people, farms, businesses and a great deal of daily commitment. Events such as the Bärner Bio-Märit create opportunities for people to meet and help make this commitment visible to a wider public.

That is why we were pleased to support this year’s event once again as a partner. The 10th Bärner Bio-Märit once again showed the value of direct exchange between agriculture, the organic sector and the public – and the many different ways in which organic is brought to life today.
