Since 2019, our subsidiary in Australia has been successfully offering audits and certifications in the field of aquaculture and fisheries worldwide
Farms and fisheries as well as processors and traders in the supply chain can have themselves audited and certified by bio.inspecta Pty Ltd according to the well-known sustainability standards MSC and ASC.
A few weeks ago, the Sustainable Seafood Awards were presented in Australia. The awards are presented annually to farms and companies by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC).
Customers of bio.inspecta Pty Ltd were awarded in the categories "Best Sustainable Seafood Products", "Sustainable Farming Practices" and "Community Champions Awards" - we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our customers and look forward to continuing to accompany and support them on this journey.
The Community Champions Award went to Harley and Johns Seafood in Fairy Meadow. Harley and Johns Seafood is an independent fishmonger that was inspected and certified with the MSC label by bio.inspecta last year and is a small, local business in Wollongong, Australia committed to sustainable fishing and ocean conservation.
During a conversation between Grant Logue, owner and manager of Harley and Johns Seafood and our employee Jo-anne McCrea, marine scientist and business development manager at bio.inspecta Australia, the idea for the first Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified sustainable seafood dinner was born.
Local resident Stan Crinis of the Diggies Café, right on Wollongong beach, and his team were immediately excited about the idea. The six-course dinner was sold out in no time and shows how big the issue of sustainability in the field of aquaculture and fisheries is. How important the commitment of all those involved is and how great the benefits are for all of us.
We are delighted with the achievement of our clients and the success of our Australian office and wish them continued success and happiness.
